Walrus Fisheries was established in 1992 and was born out of a long-running family shellfish business. Based in Ilfracombe harbour, "Our Jenny", owned and skippered by Geoff Huelin, fishes the North Devon coastline as far as Lundy Island, catching lobster and crab by traditional potting methods.
Walrus Fisheries prides itself on responsible, sustainable fishing, and supplies and delivers top quality lobster and crab to the local area. As members of the Responsible Fishing Scheme, we demonstrate high standards in terms of fishing practices, vessel criteria, crew competence and environmental awareness (http://rfs.seafish.org). Our aim is to “keep it local”, supporting local food initiatives and cutting down on food miles, allowing local restaurants to serve the best quality, freshest produce that North Devon has to offer.
Fresh Lobster And Crab Supplied Direct From Boat To You!
We supply and deliver live Lobster, Brown Crab and Spider Crab to restaurants, hotels and private customers in a wide area across North Devon. We guarantee a high quality of shellfish and a friendly and reliable service.
Where the timing of our shellfish landings do not coincide with your requirements (or the boat cannot sail due to bad weather), we can still meet your order by supplying you from our large purpose-built seawater temporary holding tanks.
Please note – we do not supply cooked lobster or prepared crab – live deliveries only.
